I have a browning medalion and hate the stock. I would love a new one. Walnut, rubed oil, hand cut checkering the works! Who is your go-to guy for this?

Get ready to pay a lot more for the stock than you paid for the whole rifle. If you wan't high grade wood, add another big chunk of $$$'s.

So,
what do you hate? the shape? the finish (all 2" of it) the weight? the quality of checkering?

You'll have to ask yourself.. do I hate it 3k worth? 2? 1? 500bucks?

How much are you willing to do, as checkering is usually better farmed out...

now, let me warn you, this particular thing is what lead me down a path of destruction ... er to a new hobby... that consumes nearly all of my free time, and a good deal of my sleeping time...

Here's what you COULD do...
fine an awesome piece of claro (come on, it's his first stock.. and odds on not a big bore)
$250

send the original stock to me with the pattern for a good turning
$200

inletting tools
$100

recoil pad and install
75

about a ZILLION hours of your time sanding, 2542958295 coats of oil, inletting, etc...

checkering..
from
150 to whatever you want to pay

775...

Now, add in shipping and time and sand paper and and and...

is a super nice stock on the same gun worth $1000 to you?
