My smith is ready to paint and I was
going to paint it OD or brown like yours.

Jeff, please e-mail me a mailing address and I'll send some photos. My rifle has a brown stock with a red Pachmayr pad and everyone really likes that color scheme for some reason.

Basically, your gunsmith needs to order McMillan's brown stock paint directly from McMillan, which is the paint finish my stock wears.
