I have an older Mauser commission rifle that is in need of a front sight blade. It is the one that slides in from the front and is obviously one of the metric dovetailed ones. The ones that NECG sells are too large. This one's base measures about .155" wide by .900" long. Anyone got one laying around?Jim Jim Kobe 10841 Oxborough Ave So Bloomington MN 55437 952.884.6031 Professional member American Custom Gunmakers Guild

I was faced with the same problem awhile back. We couldn't locate the smaller size so we machined a larger dovetail to accept the NECG. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.

Jim, Would it be possile to machine it for a regular M98 Mauser front sight blade? Jason "Chance favors the prepared mind."

Jim, you might tig weld a blank into the dovetail then mill standard dovetail into the side. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.
