Is it practical to open up a M96 stock for a Yugo 24/47. Easier to find a M96 stock.

Richards says some 47's were 7 13/16 and 7 3/4

From Richards Microfit:

Mauser 48 Short Action – Large Ring (7-5/8″ Between Lug Holes, 1-3/8″ Front Receiver Ring) Cut standard for an original stepped barrel. A #1 or #3 contour barrel channel also available on request at no charge. (99% Press Fit Inlet)
M48 Yugoslavian, M48A Yugoslavian, VZ500, M47, M52C, M24 Yugoslav (***1924 Yugo was made both Long 7-13/16 & Short 7-5/8″***)

This info is confusing. Both the M48 and the 24/47 use the same intermediate action. You don't need to use a Swede. If you have a standard action use the M98 stock.

With enough glass bedding you can do most anything.

Ok, no. Glass bedding to fill in mistakes.
Also, ometimes the Richards data is confusing. Remember, this was all written in the 1960s.
And the Intermediate action 98, something that should Never have existed, just creates more confusion.

I was given a 95 in 7x57.

The whole inside of the stock was broken out.

Now the stock on the out side is walnut the inside is glass.

Just checked. They do, but you have to look under"Yugoslavia" as the maker, not Mauser.
