I am leery of placing an order online with them. I have sent multiple emails and called many times to not receive anything back.

Not sure why anyone uses them; they are surly, very hard to communicate with, and just not worth the effort even if their barrels are ok.
Call Stan at Douglas; he is a super nice guy; I guarantee you that he will talk to you and get a barrel made ASAP. That will shoot as good or usually better than any other.
I will PM you his number. In fact, I am calling him tomorrow to order 3.

After the last guy left they were great for a while. Covid has slowed them down. I still buy their barrels as no one else makes very lightweight barrels as a standard item.

How light do you want them? Douglas has a huge CNC and one hydraulic tracer lathes that will make any contour you can dream.

After Woody left, their customer service was pretty responsive and I bought a few barrels from them. Wanted to try out the hammer forged barrels they had listed. Maybe 8 months ago when I sent an email wanting to order a couple more, I got no response.

Shoot straight, shoot often.

Not sure where all his "lack of communication" is coming from. My way: Order barrel.....get barrel

I know first hand that Lothar Walther is overwhelmed by inquires and orders. We in business know how "inquiries" can really eat up valuable time.

Mr. Mc Brayer acknowledges a slow down , but they have added to their staff and you should see immediate improvement.

I have used quite a few LW barrels and I do me quite a few. Not one of them has let me. Every one of them shoot single hole groups with good bullets and loads. This includes calibers not often noted for small groups. This happened with heavy barrels and light barrels which includes AR15's and AR10's. I never had a problem ordering from them. They even went as far to send me a piece of barrel made from the same stainless so I could make thread protectors for my threaded barrels.

There are many good barrels makers out there.

Ive never had a problem I order a barrel and get it within a month, and most of the time within 10 days. And whatever the problem they are worth the money and a wait IMO..

If you want one in a hurry, Brownells sells them, but they are about a #4 or 5 and need to be turned down for a fwt..

I gave up on LW back when woody was there.
Plenty of good barrel makers out there, not worth the hassle of dealing with someone who doesn't reply.

Woody's been gone for some time. I hope I was instrumental in assisting in his departure. I contacted LW in Germany direct about the lousy service

I realize that Duane, but once I moved on I have had no reason to go back. When I couldn't get what I wanted from LW I went with Lilja. Not disappointed with that decision.

The one and only time I purchased a barrel from them I requested a UPS tracking number. I was told they don't provide them because it is too expensive.

I've never found anyone who could explain that to me.

All the brands mentioned here will give satisfactory results if installed properly.

In my experience, Douglas, Kreiger and Lothar Walther barrels will not warp when doing integral work

Nothing could pssibly "explain" that allegation. perhaps you did not receive my PM asking for further information?????

Not trying to start a dog fight, it's just that a post of this nature (in writing) might actually be given some measure of credibility.
