| I wouldn't spend more than $300-350 on a rifle I was going to tear down. You can always sell the stock and barrel if they are salvageable, further reducing your costs.
If you consider that you should probably have the action trued and bolt lug lapped, you'll have $500 or so into the action before you start talking about barrels and replacement stocks.
