What's the most you guys would pay for a donor 700 action/complete gun? ADL/BDL, doesn't matter. Needs to be a magnum action. I'm going to be in need of an action for a project and I figured the cheapest way to go about it would just be to find a beat up 700 in a magnum caliber and then just toss the barrel and stock (or sell them or whatever).

What's the most you guys would pay for something like that? Just thought I'd get a concensus.

I wouldn't spend more than $300-350 on a rifle I was going to tear down. You can always sell the stock and barrel if they are salvageable, further reducing your costs.

If you consider that you should probably have the action trued and bolt lug lapped, you'll have $500 or so into the action before you start talking about barrels and replacement stocks.
