I have a new Beretta Mato that I bought mainly because of the beautiful stock. It is in .280, which isn't a bad choice, but I really am considering a half round, half octagonal barrel, maybe a Shilen. Any suggestions on a gunsmith or other barrel? Thanks, Glen.

Quint 6: Your choice of Shilen is good, as barrels go. As far as gunsmiths, talk with Frank Smith at Lone Star Guns in Plano, Texas or Matt Bettersworth and his gang at Hill Country Rifle in New Braunfels, Texas. They both do good work and are fairly close to you. Hope this helps. Good luck. GREG

You can get just such a barrel from Lothar Walter. Threaded & chambered too.
