On my vanguard the front screw goes into the recoil lug. Per weatherby the flat behind the recoil lug is the pressure point. When I bed the action do I install tape around the lug for clearance when the bedding is done. If so how much ?
THANKS Jerry
PS I hope this is a clear question

The lug is an anchor point so you will need to bed the bottom of the lug. Anchor points require solid contact. Bed the bottom, up the back side of the lug and the flat behind the lug. You don't need contact with the front of the lug, you can tape that to provide clearance if you want. Good luck!
