I'm being offered this gun which I would strip for the action.

It's an oberndorf kurz with matching numbers but there is no visible lettering on the left rail.
Is bottom metal available for it?

I know the pics aren't good but assume no pitting below the stock. I can probably get $80 for the scope and maybe $60 for the shilen bbl.

Advise on mkt value for this action would be much appreciated.

Thx!

Mike

Mexican?
Ejection port looks close to 3" long.
Kurz is closer to 2 1/2".

I asked him if it was mex - he swore it was oberndorf.
Here's another pic. Thumb slot looks like mex to me. It's currently chambered for 7 x 57 which says mex as well.
I've never studied Kurz actions so appreciate your help.

Well in that case, $20,000. NOT.

A 7X57 won't fit in a kurz action.

Ditto what forresdt said. The Kurz is TOO short for a 7x57. Its a taco/barrito mauser.

get us some a good clear closeups of the right & left sides of the action.

The other thing is, Even if it was a Kurtz, With no factory markings It would have lost a tremendous amount of value.

its a mexican .. canjar single set trigger (which is kinda cool), redfield base - I've never seen a kurtz redfield

the dead giveaway will be the screw spacing .. mexican is 7.6, kurz is 7.225 ..

bolt length is also easy -- mexican is 6.08, kurz is 5.76.. if the bolt fits in a 6" caliber EASILY, then maybe ..

i believe its a 1910/36 mexican ... take off the scope base and see ...

$350 for the whole gun .. if it was an unmolested mexican, 250 for the action alone .. the trigger IS cool, though.

here's a REALLY cool kurz

Looks like a Mexican to me as well, though I'd guess a 1910 given the lack of Springfield style cocking piece and what appears to be the lack of the vent hole on the left side of the receiver.

What is the distance between the guard screws? Loks like ans intermediate length SR M98. Probably Mexican. Maybe $500 in good shape.

Thanks for the replies. At present I've declined to purchase it at $550 with the nikon buckmaster scope and two boxes factory ammo. Bbl is a Shilen.

Isn't it "Kurz", meaning small? I had one a while back done by Earl Milleron with a broke stock. Never should have sold it.
