| Early stainless steel guns sometimes had the problem of galling but that's changed. They've got different alloys now. In any case there are lubes designed for stainless steel and high pressure applications [hinge pins] such as RIG +P. |

| the secret for gallling on SS actions is to use a synthetic lube like break free or moly. conventional lubes won't work |

| Not liking the "stickiness" of a SS bolt action, a friend had the bolt body coated with electroless nickel and teflon (don't remeber the name). It slicked it right up. Sliding stainless on stainless is generally not a good thing. |
