I'd like to put one of the older Model 77 barrels chambered in 250 Savage on a newer Model 77
Mark II action(this one was originally a 22-250). Is any gunsmithing necessary to make this project work? Thanks.

Jeffe:
Thank you for that info. I guess I should have also asked, "What needs to be done and about how much would it cost?"

The barrel will need to be headspaced. While it might fit it would be unlikely. Most likely set the barrel back one turn or what is required to align the wording. The chamber and headspace. Someplace between $50-100.

As usual just my $.02
