Thank you so much for the post! It was a treat to read those old articles and ads. I know that took some time for you to scan. If you add inflation, it tells us that we aren't getting such bad deals on milsurps today.

Very cool! I'm on a small screen right now will read later on the desktop, but it is cool not just because of the article but the old ads. Mexican mausers for 25 bucks, 1917's for 37. but I bet if we did the math that isn't so much dfferent than today, except the supply is really dried up. Can you imagine just buying as many as you wanted? who had the foresight?

Now I see where the ideas for a compass in the stock and plastic stock inlays came from!

Too funny they have someone shooting African Dangerous game with "Deer Rifles". A cape buffalo with a 300 Weatherby, wow.

Two adds that were especially funny were the Canadian firm offering duty free shipping of Ross rifles among others to those of us in the US, but the one that I'd love to have just for the fun of it is the Anti-Tank gun that "only weighs 33 pounds" for $79.99.
