Would love to have some recomendation from this learned body on who to use. Located in Houston, TX, don't mind shipping to anywhere. Probably use a 24" #2 Contour PAC-NOR.

TIA

It would be hard to beat David Christman 216 Rundall Loop Rd. Delhi, La. 71232. He can get the metal work out in a real quick time if he has the components and is a gentleman to deal with. He is a member of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild and is very reasonable. Butch

Depends on what level of finish you are looking for. I used Norman Myers near Atlanta for my VZ24 Mauser based custom in 275 Rigby. Norman does very good work at a very reasonable price. He trued the action and lugs, installed a Douglas barrel, engine turned the bolt, finished all the metal work in KG Gunkote, bedded and installed a B&C composite stock for an incredibly good price. His web site is http://www.heritagecustomarms.com/

Mr. Browningguy, I am confused about your post. Are you saying Mr. Myers is better and more expensive or is David the more expensive and so on? Butch

As Jeffe said, good job at a good (inexpensive) price, I don't know of anyone that does work as reasonably as Norman. I just haven't used him for a real high quality blueing job, he's currently doing the inletting on a Mauser in 7x64 that Jeffe turned the blank for.

I have seen some of Normans rifles & they look very good. He has done some trigger work for me that I am very pleased with. I am going to use him to build my 338-06.
