Shumba,
I don't normally send stuff out of the US to California, but you are welcome to borrow my 404 gauge for a while.

Thanks everyone for the help and advice.

LD, appreciate the offer on the gauges. The rifle is on its way back to the gunsmith and the gunsmith has a set of "go" and "no go" gauges from FredJ338's 404 Jeffery that was built on a Win M70 action.

The bottom metal is from London Guns and it was a casting that needed quite a bit of finish work. However, it allowed us to take less metal from the front of the receiver (whatever good thad did!).

P D Shooter,

To me, a Stainless Ruger action is like a fat and/or ugly girl. She will get the job done, but you don't want your friends (or your PH) to see you with her Big Grin

I will post of the gunsmith's findings once he has a chance to go through the action with the guages and gives his assessment.

Thanks.

Tim

Since they are all nuts, you might as well screw a good looking one.
