Reminds me of a rifle my office manager's cousin had built for him by his dad. The kid is paralyzed from the neck down and his father had a gunsmith in Washington build him a rifle that allows him to blow into a tube to fire it. The kid even killed a blacktail buck with it a few years ago.... Pretty amazing to say the least. I've yet to see the rifle, or know for sure what it was built on, but given half the chance, I'd like to check it out a little closer for sure. Williams Machine Works

Cooool. My buddy and fellow instructor put together a rifle for a young blind girl a couple years ago. Yup, that's right BLIND! She's a fantastic kid, not only believes she can but does everything anyone else can. The rifle was set up with an offset scope so her dad could sit behind her and aim, but she did the shooting. Killed a nice buck to! The safety class we did for her to get a license was a challenge since a lot of visual aids are normally employed, but she scored an honest 100% on the test. By far the weirdest modification I've ever seen was a gear-driven left-hand bolt on a Mauser. Now THAT was weird. An old man sleeps with his conscience, a young man sleeps with his dreams.

oupa, you have lead a sheltered life. About 15 years ago, Collector's Firearms, in Houston had a 98 Mauser that was converted to a LEVER ACTION. Worked pretty smooth too. I forget which poster's tagline it is (Too Many Tools I think?) that says it, but it's very true: Beware a machinist with a warped imagination! Jason "Chance favors the prepared mind."

Knew a guy who lost both hands to a high-tension line. Had a socket fitted to his right wrist into which a .44 Mag pistol was attached. His son would load the gun for him. He would cock it with his left wrist, and pull the trigger via a cable that ran from the trigger up through his arm to the pectoral muscle which he had learned to flex. He was deadly with it. Persevierance and determination, boys.
