Welding Mauser mag box

I'm in need of some repair for a Mauser box. I need to make a cut in the end of the box itself and then have it rewelded. What is the appropriate type of welding technique to be used in this situation? Tig? Something else? I'm totally clueless about the methods. Once this is determined, I'll get it prepped and then look into some local welding services.

Thanks.

Using a TIG would be the best.

Tig will be cleaner, mig will probably be "cheaper".. both can be done for a 6 pack.
