Aww knowing me, this is OLD news to everyone else...

But surfing Midway's sight this evening, I noticed that in the near future they plan on carrying CZ 550 actions with the Magnum and 308 bolt face...

They are also going to be peddling the Remington Mauser 798 barreled actions!

This may be good news.. as usual, it requires an FFL to order tho...

Wonder if Howa Actions may be in their future?

I don't believe Howa actions are in any danger of becoming "popular" yet. The CZ550, for sure, the Mauser, you bet, the Howa... Nah. That's not to mean that I think the Howa action is a bad action, I think they are pretty good as far as bolt actions go, it's just that in my business, they aren't as "desireable" as the others, FWTW.

there is no toys out for howas, limited triggers, bottom metal options, and other things, I like the howa action myself better than a remington, but I don't think you are going to see a mass of custom rifles built on howas anytime soon

in times when one needs a rifle, he tends to need it very badly.....PHC

I've been waiting for the promised Williams bottom metal to buy a Howa...

Then just have to figure out how to get my Clausing to cut a metric thread....

Yep there is a lot of FACTORY Howa's around. I've bought and sold a couple during the S&W times. But, like Cowboy says the lack of toys keeps them from good custom status. Metric threads can't help.

Darn good rifle for the money.

As usual just my $.02

Can't disagree with this quote.....

As to the Rem barreled actiuons available....I think I've lost my interest in anything sounding like Remington!.....but I sure could get interested in something sounding like Zastava and action only.....

The CZ has been available from Brownells for some time!

Yep my wife's rifle is built on a Daly 7x57 barreled action. Shoots great. Issue I've been having with the new 798s is 1) I can go buy a used early MKX with a better floor release for a lot less money. 2) I'm sure not going to buy a 98 action with Remington on the side.

As usual just my $.02
