Some trippy stuff going on in there. The follower has a weird hump in it, and the rail on the left (IIRC) has a major dutout about 1/3 the way toward the barrel. Crazy. Is this what it takes to get these things to feed? Isn't this the same setup as a Dakota in 416? Do they do that to theirs?

Yeah, I just picked up a Winchester 70 in 300 RUM to convert to a 404 Jeffreys. It also has that odd hump in the follower and a small cut out of the middle third of the left feed rail. lawndart
