I have been looking at the carbine conversions made by Mech Tech for an unused 45 pistol frame I have. Searching the various internet sites, I can find very little out about them. Does anyone have any experience good or bad they can share ?
I find for the money you can buy a whole nother firearm. I thought about it but decided it wasn't worth the cost. Now if the price was reasonable say 150 instead of double that it would be fun to play with. I guess if you live in place that restricts the number of arms one owns it could be a good idea.

They are also neat for the 1911 owner who just likes to accessorize! We have a couple of local three gun matches where the ranges don't go over 100m or so and if you shoot a 1911 (or Glock) they can make a handy little carbine (only one mag to carry for both your carbine and pistol). Like previously mentioned the only negative is the bolt not locking open on the last shot. Jason
