What about Mech Tech Carbine Conversions ?
I have been looking at the carbine conversions made by Mech Tech for an unused 45 pistol frame I have. Searching the various internet sites, I can find very little out about them. Does anyone have any experience good or bad they can share ?

I love the one I have in 10mm
If I could find an unused frame at the right price I would buy one just for the mech tech

will shoot 2"groups ar 50 yards and functions great.
Only thing I do not like is that the bolt does not stay open after the last shot

I find for the money you can buy a whole nother firearm. I thought about it but decided it wasn't worth the cost. Now if the price was reasonable say 150 instead of double that it would be fun to play with. I guess if you live in place that restricts the number of arms one owns it could be a good idea.

They are also neat for the 1911 owner who just likes to accessorize! We have a couple of local three gun matches where the ranges don't go over 100m or so and if you shoot a 1911 (or Glock) they can make a handy little carbine (only one mag to carry for both your carbine and pistol). Like previously mentioned the only negative is the bolt not locking open on the last shot.
