I don't care for the barrel either. If it goes cheap enough, would definitely be worth rebarreling. Already a magnum, maybe a 338 or 375?

Nice rifle but to bad the original barrel was rebored, or heaven forbid, rechambered.
It would almost have had to be more desireable than 358 Norma.

If this is one of the three at the Spokane show last weekend he was looking for $3000 and up. All three were basically Ottmar stocks, since the metalwork was almost factory. The thing is...You could not get one of Mr. Ottmars stocks for $3000 and you certainly can't now that he has passed away. These are going to be the only ones available....ever...the ones that people sell for some reason or other. I was told the three in Spokane were from a widow in Colville Wa.

IIRC, Cabela's has 2 Ottmar rifles, a 7 mag and a .25-06. Both were beautiful and $4-5K. They looked like they were worth every penny...

be interestng to see what it goes for, wouldnt take much to rebarrel

I bet a dollar to a donut the ole guns a shooter punched or not. I also bet teh ole boy that set the min bid at 750 is going to want a heck of a lot more than that, just my guess.

I don't have a clue whats its worth, other than what you can get for it.
