About 3 days ago I was talking to a Vet. who reckons he was in on some testing for an Aust. rifle, out of the M16, Fn something and the Aug Styer, all 5.56mm. Over 2 weeks at 8000 rounds per day, the M16 needed frequent cleaning to keep going. The FN was the best. The Aug tended to melt it's plastic near the barrel. We took the Aug because we could manifacture, and sell them on. After about 30+ mods, most soldiers here seem to like them. | |||
