Was at a gun shop last week, and was informed that Freedom Group owns Marlin Arms, and that the Freedom Group is primarily Russian owned. is this true? ______________________________ Well, they really aren't debates... more like horse and pony shows... without the pony... just the whores. 1955, Top tax rate, 92%... unemployment, 4%. Not that I know of, the founder and most of the principals of American. They do represent, however, the worst of what the bloodsuckers on Wall Street have to offer, and that's saying something for that pack of thieves. They couldn't be any worse if they were Russian owned.

Idiots----no they are not. One of my best friends was on the leadership team for many years. Actually that is the only reason there have been monies put back into the Custom Shop at Remington. Involvement has been positive to Remington as they were just about to go under. Also, the family wanted to sell Marlin for quite some time so there was no money being put into capitol equipment. Ruger was a player but fell short in that deal.

Thank you for the clarification. I did a web search, and could find no credible information to support the salesman's claims. I may buy a Marlin in the future... thinking of a lever action in .357... Would prefer a Winchester, but we will see what is available when I am ready to buy. I was also informed that Marlins are hard to get right now due to moving the factory to another location. ______________________________ Well, they really aren't debates... more like horse and pony shows... without the pony... just the whores. 1955, Top tax rate, 92%... unemployment, 4%. From a Freedom Group brochure which I obtained (from subsidiary company ceo) while hunting Omay in 2009. Remington, Marlin, Harrington Richardson, New England Firearms, Parker Gun, L.C. Smith, Bushmaster, DPMS, EOTAC, and INTAC are all their companies. Subsequently Dakota and DynCorps have been added. The latter "is a global government services provider in support of U. S. national security and foreign policy objectives...." The official described the Cerberus principals as a very patriotic, conservative Jewish family. This could not be more contrasting to the "Russian owned" concoction. Headquarters listed as Madison, NC.

Freedom Group is owned by Cerberus. Cerberus is hardcore American and Conservative. Steve Feinburg founded Cerberus and is one of the few conservative Jews on Wall Street and loves big game hunting and guns. Why couldn't Bloomberg be cut from the same clothe? Cerberus Capital has a reputation for purchasing companies, skimming their assets, then selling their skeletons back into the market. Cerberus once owned Chrysler and left it pretty ashen by the time they'd sucked most of the blood and marrow from it. They'll ride the wave of profitability in the gun business until it starts to subside, at which point you'll find the names of the gun companies they currently own strewn across various bankruptcy filings like the carcasses of buffalo on the plains of the 1870's.

what they have is a history of buying under performing companies, investing 100s of millions, if not billions, and expecting a high return on the company -- chrylser, in your example below, was FOUNDERED AND DEAD after MB bought and rifled through them MB sucked the profits dry, and when they figured they got all they could, they sold the company at what was considered to be a premium for market value .. CERBERUS bought it and kept EVERY line of produciton still running, with the exit plans of them still in place. How long EXACTLY did cerberus own chrysler and how many 10s of millions did they LOOSE by trying to keep an american car company going? right -- that's why they bought remington when it could barely pay its bills and dakota OUT OF BANRUPTCY ... huge losses and failed business .. gun prifts started trailing down in 4Q09 -- read anyone's stockholder reports and profit trends.
you mean like dakota? DMPS? Marlin? HR? and Remington, which where in HORRIBLE financial conditions, could barely pay bills, or had FAILED as going concerns? What do they have to sell from "skimming the assests? Seriously? a couple milling machines and ammo making tools? In the world of commerce, gun making is NOT capitol intensive, (CAPEX) it is HUGELY operating expense driven (OPEX) in that the margin for guns making is RAZOR thing, after COGS, SGA, LEgal, Insurance, and marketing.. In other words, your post is ill founded. cerberus has SAVED thousands of american high skill, good income jobs, and kept brands alive. They are NOT corporate raiders, they are investors! opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? So, Cerberus is a charitable group which sacrifices their profits by injecting their money into struggling companies for the good of mankind? Sounds like a poor investment to me.

oh my .. dont' say all corporations are evil .. MOST CHURCHES are corporations, and most not-for-profits .. in fact, anyone that wants to use tax laws in their favor, like a church or not-for-profit, legally MUST be a corp. but, of course, cerberus is NOT a corporation -- it is a limited partnership .. I'm convinced 98% of corporations are good (and I have worked with a lot). Just like everything else in life, it's the 2% that f^&K up for everyone else!

Benz screwed Chrysler from day one. It started with picking up their reps in chauffered Mercedes and renting Town and Country Minivans for the Chrysler Execs at the final contract signing. For Daimler it was a way to avoid being an overseas company for taxes. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.

Chrysler screwed Chrysler like they screwed the US Taxpayer ... TWICE!! Thank Union influence in DC for that. Could be wrong of course, but is it true that these same folks who own Remington also have put Dakota Arms under that same umbrella?? If it is true I don't see that as a good or bad thing, just curious.
