I have a CZ527FS that the finish from the factory is dull. I was thinking about having it polished and reblued to match the finish of a Leupold gloss scope. Can anyone give me a idea what a job like this would cost.

Thank you, Tony

"and cheaper, faster to replace the tube"

Are you refering to the barrel or scope when you say "tube"?

If you are talking barrel? I want everything polished & blued; action, barrel, trigger guard, ect.

If you are talking about the scope? The factory finish on the CZ is not as polished as a Leupold gloss finish, but not as matte as their matte finished scopes. Falls in between.

Im not real worried about matching scope and gun finish, just not really impressed with the finish on the CZ. Used the gloss Leupold as a reference for the polish/blue that I would be interested in getting.

Thank you, Tony

For high gloss you will need to go polish and hot salts blue. I sell Leupold scopes and haven't seen a high polish one in some time. The fourteen scopes in my display case have matte finishes. A nice rust blue finish would match well with that.

I also prefer the look of rust bluing.

However, if I was to send out a gun for high polish re-blue, I'd probably check with Glenrock Bluing.

You can have a matte or a polished finish with the hot caustic bluing. I myself like a 320 finish with hot caustic bluing.

Well there you have it Tony, it looks like we've decided you need a matte rust blue finish on your rifle!

I offer my customers, who are using the rifle a bead blast hot blue which results in a matte finish that reduces glare, and keeps the lube on the metal longer than a hi polish blue.

i was thinking about having "CERAKOTE" put on a couple of rifles i use the most...from what i read it appears that that it dulls any blueing glow ,is execellent for corrosion proteion, and has outstanding abrasion protection....any pros or cons out there that i should know about...thanks
