Could someone please explain the mixing ratio on Devcon plastic steel? The ratio is stated at 9:1 by weight; 2.5:1 by volume. I understand the difference between the wheight and volume measurements. But could you please tell the which is the epoxy and which is the hardener? I assume the hardener is the lesser of the two. Just want to make sure - Thanks Happy New Year

The epoxy is always listed first, followed by the hardner. _______________________________________________________________________________ This is my rifle, there are many like it but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend, it is my life.

The hardener is the white compound, and the epoxy is the grey/black compound..

I don't know of any plural mixing ratios that are not more resin too hardener by ratio . Even when listed as 1:1 the hardener content of say product B is far less than equal . There are generally far more solvent carriers in part B . Devcon Plastic Steel Hardness, Shore D 85.0 ASTM D2240 Tensile Strength, Ultimate 3220 psi ASTM D638 Modulus of Elasticity 850 ksi In Tension; ASTM D638 Flexural Yield Strength 5600 psi ASTM D790 Compressive Yield Strength 8260 psi ASTM D695 Shear Strength 2800 psi Adhesive tensile shear strength; ASTM D1002 Mix Ratio by Volume 2.5 to 1 resin:hardener Mix Ratio by Weight 9 to 1 resin:hardener Product Comparisons can be made for Epoxy resins and several different adhesives such as Anaerobic Methacrylate Urethane Cyanoacrylate and many more Just click the below link bookmark it for quick references in the future . http://www.ellsworth.com/itwdevcon.html?tab=Vendors
