While attempting to order another stock out of Boyd's I have not been able to get into their website for the last 3 or 4 days....

I called them today and after 60 seconds got a call that the "party is not answering, please try your call again later..." routine....

Anyone know if Boyd's is in some sort of corporate shutdown, or is being purchased by some other "Big Outfit" ( there goes the neighborhood!)........

300 H/H;

Evidently you have never been to South Dakota.. I love that state and I love the people there!

But there are parts of South Dakota that NEVER GOT electricity yet! and other parts that loose it and it takes years to get the power company out there to fix it.....

A blizzard or no electricity might be an excuse in places like Chicago for slowing down..

but in South Dakota, life goes on....Heck they are still trying to budget to buy a few snowplows in Soudakota..... they think those are some real nifty inventions.... half of the state still uses 'solar power' for snow removal.....

( just a former Minnesota resident making fun of SD again guys! if it wasn't for, Iowa or the Dakotas.. there wouldn't be much of a sense of humor in Minnesota!)

Well 300 H/H:

then you know exactly what I am talking about... especially living in Ft. Pierre....been there many times... spent more than a few nights there.. and doing some bar hopping....

Naw, I am not a native Minnesota guy.. my wife was.. only reason I really spent time there.. Loved the state.. hated the damn state government....
DFL: Democratic Farm Labor.. How much more Communistic sounding can ya get...I always thought " Dreaming Faireyland Liberals' was more appropriate for what they really stood for...

"We fly the flag of righteousness so high, NO ONE can see the ground!" was their unofficial motto ( at least according to seafire.. lol)

I grew up as a military dependent.... Kerry didn't get a whole heck of a lot of support in my household.... in fact, my stepdad who pulled 3 plus tours in Vietnam flying Black Bird C 130s, is not usually very political.... but Kerry boasting about his "war record' really pissed off my stepdad to the max.....

So Naw, I made a lousy Minnesotan!

I'd make a better Souda'kotan......

We guys who live in Oregon.. always get this "liberal left wing" moniker.....

Oregon is really two states in one...

52 % of the state lives in 3 cities.. Portland, Salem and Eugene... 52 % and they always vote like they are California transplants or California Wannabes.....They take up about 1/2 of one percent of the state's geography....

Then there is the rest of us! Believe me, most of the rest of Oregon is as redneck and /or conservative.. as anywhere you will find....

I love it here.. but We can't help it when we get stuck with left wing liberal big city elected government..... too much of the country is getting ruined by the same problems we suffer!

City Liberals outnumbering the rest of us.....the ones who actually have to get out and work for a living.... lol

but cheers and happy holidays!

i drove through fargo north dakota on sunday and it was bumper to bumper traffic from barnesville minnesota to jamestown north dakota. speed was max on i94 was 25-35 mph. lots of power lines down, and the brunt of the storm was south of fargo. there are many towns hunkered down in shelters. and it's that way all the way to mitchell south dakota. just plain nasty.

I was on the second day of a pheasant hunt in SD when they said 10-16 inches to snow and 50mph winds. We loaded up and went home, as I might have missed a week of work. My partners stayed, said the next day you couldn't see from one side of the truck to the other, did some serious drinking and killed the heck of them the next day.

My feeling of avoidance for Boyd's is operating from a single bad purchase, that they parlayed into screwing me again.

I feel so stupid when I get snookered by crooks more than onceFrowner

There is, however, a poster here at AR that knows what he is doing at uses Boyd's laminated blanks.

YMMV

Of all of the states that can legitimately poke fun at California, Oregon and Washington are certainly not among them!

Oregon and Washington are every bit as wacky as California ever thought of being...and in many instances even wackier.

We already have too many California transplants, with goofy ideas like no more cougar hunts and stoping elk hunting. Up North we have one thing on our side: cold winters, 70% go home after 3-4 years they never get used to driving in snow, heating bills ( firewood has to cut and it can't be bought at the mall ).
THose that do assimilate never belonged in California anyway.

Spokane is less than 30 miles from my house and have a lot of friends that just hate that there run by Seattle.

I lived in Idaho Falls in the early 1970s as a 10th- and 11th-grader in high school; we had too many Californians even then. I think it's an insidious plan to turn the whole country into a bleeding-heart, hand-wringing, peacenik barrel of shit. It will be intersting to see who succeeds first: al-Quaida to turn us Muslim or California to turn us stuck-on-stupid liberal.

Guess you’ve never been in Truckee, California. That town gets more snow each year than the whole state of Idaho does, and they get winter temperatures that are way below anything that Idaho has ever seen.

Believe it or not, but everyone in California doesn’t live in San Francisco and Los Angeles...and while we have our share of liberal wacko’s, they are no worse than the ones in Oregon and Washington.

The reason that CA, OR, and WA are so liberal is that liberals move there. If someone is born in KS and realizes that he is a homo or folk singer, he can't stay in KS, he has to move to Seattle and dwell with with the tattoed and body pierced.

Those of us with roots in the left coast 100 years deep, are now being forced out. I am sure MT is getting sick of us refugees from blue states moving there.

Actually I did military training on a mountain of the east shore of Tahoe. Yeah it gets snow, not like the passes between N Idaho and Montana, up here it every year and bad years murder, I have pics of old steam loco's buried under 60 ft of it and look like their in a trench.

Yes I know not all the folks in Calif are from the coast. All the eastern parts are screwed pretty much though, Barstow, Sunsanville, or up north like Dorris. Its the fruits and nuts on the coast that run the state and they have little say or influence, and need to fight like the devil to maintain.

That is a true statement, unfortunatly you all live under the laws of the people who "live in San Francisco and Los Angeles", and the smaller communities have very little say in the legal process.

I’m assuming that you know that the east side of Tahoe is in Nevada, not California?

I just sometimes get a kick out of people talking about California like it was nothing but Los Angeles and San Francisco. There are spots in California that are some of the most rugged and desolate in the lower 48 states.

I’ve spent a bit of time in just about every state except for Maine and I have yet to find a region that didn’t have more than their fair share of wacko’s hanging around...and like I said earlier, Oregon and Washington are about the last ones that should be poking fun at any other state.

Duhhh, I was in Nevada National Guard at the time.

California gots lots of pretty places, no argruement, and I like lot of the eastern and northern part of the state.

I agree Washington, and Oregon aren't much better. My brother is in Klamath ( how else would I know about Dorris?) its definately got it problems also.

Have you noticed that the eastern part of all these states are all good parts of the country and all the nutty stuff originates on the coast. There are good bad people everywhere, its just the west coast has gone to pot for the most part. There are still some pockets on the coast that are OK, but these are almost islands anymore.

Me I like the Rockies, always have always will, I spent a lot or years rolling around this world, and the Rockies always called me home, I have no desire to be anywhere else.
