I just restocked one for a customer. All the pitting was below the stock line. I think that is one that was poorly cared for. I also think it is poorly over priced.

Thats the worst pitting I have ever seen on a non surplus rifle, doubt it could be cleaned up. If the guns shoots well its a nice hunting gun,nice but not worth 600 bucks.

I agree. The two Salt Brownings I saw looked great on top as long as you didn't look below the stock line.

I wonder what the chamber and bore look like. I wouldn't pay any more than whatever part off of it I might need is worth, that is if there is any good ones. Even the stock is poorly refinished.

I think the barrel could still be cut up and turned into some servicable tent pegs and surely the stock would burn. Other than that, I wouldn't have much use for it. I'd bet the INSIDE of the barrel is a LOT worse.

I suspect that gun was lost outside then found, or has been in a fire and got a lot of water on it...

salt wood guns show little pitting above the wood line..

At any rate that guns a piece of junk...
