CustomstoxRe: Is this a salt wood Browning?
TC1,
I just restocked one for a customer. All the pitting was below the stock line. I think that is one that was poorly cared for. I also think it is poorly over priced.

KevinNYThats the worst pitting I have ever seen on a non surplus rifle, doubt it could be cleaned up. If the guns shoots well its a nice hunting gun, nice but not worth 600 bucks.

ramrod340I agree. The two Salt Brownings I saw looked great on top as long as you didn't look below the stock line.

Oscar MakonkaI wonder what the chamber and bore look like. I wouldn't pay any more than whatever part off of it I might need is worth, that is if there is any good ones. Even the stock is poorly refinished.

Pecos41I think the barrel could still be cut up and turned into some servicable tent pegs and surely the stock would burn. Other than that, I wouldn't have much use for it. I'd bet the INSIDE of the barrel is a LOT worse.

AtkinsonI suspect that gun was lost outside then found, or has been in a fire and got a lot of water on it...
salt wood guns show little pitting above the wood line..
At any rate that guns a piece of junk...
