So this truck has caught my eye at CarMax and I was wondering what the knowledgeable folks here thought.

4.3(?) 6 cyl
4wd
17K miles

All the normal stuff without all the flashy stuff

Obviously it was NOT driven much so I am guessing easy miles.

OH, my current truck is 2005 Tacoma so that may be a hint that I plan to drive it some years into the future

I will tow a small Aluminum boat.
Tote my canoes,
Use the 4wd sparingly but have a couple of places it would be handy . . . as in required due to the slope of the road.
May be handy IF I am forced to drive in the snow.
Anything I'm missing?

I am retired so my driving mileage has dropped considerably.

As with anything they sell it looks to be very clean vehicle.

Low mileage caught my eye also.
I was thinking that someone that had a pickup for occasional use.
Oh well likely gone now and so "temptation removed".

I worked with a guy that had an older Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 with the 4.3L v6 and it was trouble free and he was commuting about 60 miles to work and back. He really liked that vehicle. I don't remember how many miles were on it but it was a bunch. As long as you don't try to pull heavy loads with it I think you will get good service from it.

The only Chevy I had with the 4.3L engine was in an older S10 blazer that one of my son's drove until someone crashed into it while parked in front of our house and totaled it out. That Blazer looked like it was not the most cared for car when we bought it, and it was high mileage but we never spent a dime on the mechanics. We did have it repainted shortly before it was wrecked.LOL
