I've got a Bluebird MH 34 footer (I think, this is from memory, could be a 32) sitting in the front yd of one of my old houses in San Augustine County. It has about 67,000 miles on it, give or take (again from memory) with a CAT/GM 3204 diesel engine (?, not totally sure of number designation but I'm pretty sure that's it) that the original owner had turboed so he could drive it over mountain passes with no problems, total cost new in early 80s, just under 200k. I bought it about 12 years ago or so for 25K, drove it there from Florida, hated driving it, parked it, and it's been sitting there ever since. Roof vent collapsed over years, serious water damage inside, had some elecrical problems when parked, had good Onan generator (not sure of KW size) when parked and no problems with engine. IF I can get it titled (I never put it in my name but have signed title, this is 100% legit but the original owners who sold it to me are both dead), you can have it for $2000 plus cost of titling it which should be less than $2000 but I don't know about that for sure, but you have to get the whole thing off my property or, if you don't want anything but parts, you can have it for $2000 but again you have to remove the whole vehicle from my property and dispose of it, junk it, turn it into a deer camp, whatever. The generator and motor should easily be worth more than that, I'd think. Fuel tank is full of 12+ year old diesel. Unless you plan on spending some time there getting it driveable, this would require a good sized wrecker to move. I've heard Bluebird will recondition one of these stem to stern for much less than a new one costs, but I haven't confirmed that and this one might be too far gone. Hell, I dunno, sitting that long, the engines could be froze up, might be worthless, but if you wanted to come look at it to see what you think, that would be no problem, I could meet you down there, we're nearly equi-distant from there. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process. | |||
