May be some of our more knowledgeable friends could tell us.
I think one should easily go over a 100 pounds, while the other might be around 80 pounds.

collectorThanks Saeed...it sure looked like a 100 pounder.

No, we were right next to them as a track was set between two bodies of water.

Greg BrownleeSaeed,
What camera/lens combo are you using for these pictures? Any photoshop used to process them? What settings on the cam when the pics were taken?
Thanks for the pictures, they are all great. I'm headed to Bots in April and want to get a bigger lens for my Nikon so I can get some photos like yours.
09 March 2010, 13:15
SaeedGreg,
Several cameras were used for these photos, although the best were taken by a Nikon D300s and a Nikon 70-300mm VRII lense.
I did a little bit of work with Photoshop to adjust the lighting and levels only.
I have settled on two lenses for my Nikon cameras when going to Africa.
A Nikon 18-200 VRII and a 70-300 VRII.
They seem to cover most of what I need.

Greg BrownleeThanks Saeed, I have the 18-200 but was debating whether to get the 70-300 or the 200-400. I think I will get the 70-300, these pictures are phenomenal. Thank you for you help!
Greg

SaeedGreg,
I have the 200-400 lense, but unless one has a steady tripd, the photos get a bit fuzzy.
Also, I think the VR system in the 70-300 is much newer than the one in the 200-400, hence it is more effective in removing the shakes.
Saeed, my wife and I love your elephant photos. We would like to choose 3 and have them framed in a 3-spot horizontal frame for our trophy room. May we have your consent to do so?
