Saw this elsewhere and thought WOW!

I've lived in some off the grid places in the past but some of these are way off the grid.

Very interesting though not too many are actually LOG cabins. I don't know If I'd want to live in those that require guy wires to prevent the cabin freom blowing away even with the scenery ! The log cabin on the first page has a door exactly like my home has. That X on the door is not just decoration -it's a Maltese cross that is there to keep out evil spirits .Few people understand these things !! I love that website!

This is a US Forest Service boathouse/log cabin on a border lake that we came across on my last trip to the BWCA. I figure it's a photo worth sharing here.

Bet they didn't portage that stuff in...

Dammit men [an lovely ladies of the hunt] I love it....you cannot see this old cabin well, but it holds 16 men and has cooking facilities to boot. I was a cook and guide here from 2002-2008. On top of my real job as a biologist for the landowner.

I just had to post all of it since it is of fond memories to be hand no more in that location! Long story and the loss of a good friend. RIP Rich!

I am with the two bucks...my dad the larger in the orange hat...my best friend of 71 in the red and white hat.

These days are ones to never forget, never take for granted, but to cherish and try and recreate with your children!

Not a cabin, but an amazing barn with few nails! I loved hunting here too.
