The Bracco Italiano has recently caught my eye, so I'm looking to hear from owners about the breeds characteristics, temperament, traits etc...photos are always a plus, too. Thanks.

Friend had one that he used to hunt sheds with. got into porcupines to much though and he got rid of it. They have a wirey coat , so can be used for Waterfowl, good pointers and generally have soft mouths. I can get you the breeders name and number if you would like. This male was of good size, but not so large he couldn't be used all day. Hard to see in the winter time due to the light coat.

Braccos are actually smooth coated. The Italian Spinone is the wire coated Italian Pointing Dog. Go to this link for more info. Soli Deo Gloria

I stand corrected it was a Spinone.

I am on my third Spinone. It is a wonderful breed with a sweet temperment and smart as a whip. Ours is just a pet but they are excellent close working hunters especially with pheasants. My breeder was Del Caos Kennels in Rio Wisconsin but I think they may no longer be offering pups. Check the Sinone Italiano web site. Breeders are listed.
