I am wanting to get some new kennels for my shorthairs. The chainlink kennels just dont seem to hold up well. I was wondering if there is any other route to go other than building what I want.

I have seen kennels made from heavy rods, but they were very pricey if you wanted more than a small cage. I have always had good luck with chain link. I am using 11 gauge wire. The newer wire is several gauges higher. If I was building a new kennel I would look for some older chain link, I often see fence being given away that is much better quality than the newer wire.

Do a google search for Behlen manufacturing in Columbus, Ne.

They make excellent kennels that are welded, rectangular wire; easy to assemble also.

I suspect they're not cheap! I'll be finding out soon myself!
