Build around the bullet, not the case. Drop is physics, wind is voodoo....

I personally like the .260, as some have mentioned above. Quite a bit less recoil than a .308 and thus far I have had good success hitting at 1,000 Yards. I'm able to see my hits with this cartridge as well. That being said, many, many cartridges will hit at 1,000 with relative ease. I wouldn't overthink it. Heck, my buddy and I were consistently hitting at 1110 yards with his .223 on Saturday. That surprised me we could hit that far with a .223.
