I've used the AR15 in 223 for coyotes but I don't like giving up the range to my higher powered bolt guns in 22-250, .243 and 6.5mm. In the new 6mm and 6.5mm calibers, they'll do the job on deer sized game but I don't like the smaller case capacity required to fit the guns/magazines.
