They are a great way to allow for closer focusing of a lens. For some animals like butterflies, you can use a long lens at closer ranges. There are multiple lengths of extension tubes and they can be coupled to each other allowing for closer focusing. They do put the lens further away from the camera and with a long telephoto, you will want to be careful. | |||
