I have been using these new drones for sometime now.

Video and photo quality is fantastic.

Battery life is great.

But I think DJI made a big mistake to include two cameras and only digital zoom.

Any digital zoom degrades the quality.

Numerous reviews on YouTube praising this is just plain rubbish.

I do miss the optical zoom of the previous model, and do appreciate the better battery life.

In both the drone and the smart remote.

I have also just received the new Mini 3 Pro with the smart controller.

Have not tried it as yet.

I have not used the Mini much, as I only have one battery, and it is pointless taking it anywhere for lack of a spare battery.

The Mavic 3 Pro is great, the internal SSD is very fast.

But, all the zooms are totally useless for taking videos or photos.

They do help visually, but that is it.

Two days ago we were in the desert, and I was looking for the camels.

I found them with the zoom, and tried taking videos at different zoom levels.

Even at 2x the video was awful.

So I stick to taking video with no zoom at all, in which case the quality is fantastic.

I purchased the Mavic 2 Pro when they first came out. I opted for the Hasselblad lens version rather than the zoom.

Recently acquired the Mavic Mini 3 Pro with the fly-more kit.

Have flown it some and am favorably impressed. Much easier to get into the air than the Mavic 2 Pro. I also opted for the RC controller. I sure like that better than linking my Iphone.
Should get a chance to fly both during the course of the next couple weeks. I'm interested to see the difference between the picture/video quality between the two for myself.

As all our pictures are viewed on a computer, I don’t take any.

I take videos, and extract pictures from the video.

We view them on a 65 inch 4K TV or a 32 inch professional monitor.

The extracted pictures look great.

Sir,

Copy that!

I do screen grabs as well.

However most of my photos are stills taken with my I-phone 13 sometimes digiscoping, or with either a Canon 7D MK 2 or a Canon 5D MK4.

I do shoot vids with the GoPro 10, the Mavic 2, or either of the DSLR's but "stills" remain my primary effort.

I view almost all on a 27" I-Mac monitor.

Thanks Saeed. I’m going to be purchasing a drone for my upcoming hunt on the Escalante (Utah desert).

I appreciate you posting this.

The DJI MINI 3 PRO is smaller, might be a better choice for you.

You can order it with the large batteries, which apparently last as long as the ones on the 3.

I am using it in Sweden, and do find the battery life make a great difference.

I do a lot of long distance video over water.

The Mavic 2 sometimes I barely have enough time over the target before I have to come back for a new battery.

Not with this one.

I can take a reasonable length video before having to come home.

You might wish to look at that thread in a week or 10 days.

I have plenty more great pictures to post, once I am back home.

Thank you Saeed. I will be watching this slide and will likely make a purchase in the next 1-2 weeks.

I will take a look at the DJI MINI 3 PRO

Yesterday I flew the Mavic 3 5 kilometers over water to a rocky outcrop.

Managed to look around, but kept telling I am losing radio contact.

But 5 k is a long way away.

Friends who fly drones absolutely refuse to go that far, especially over water.

Radio reception is line of sight.

And if you do get an obstacle in the way - at any distance - you will a warning of loosing contact.

If this happens, go up.

That generally clears the path for line of sight.

I have been using it frequently.

Have 15 batteries, and a pair of power banks I use to charge the remote while out in the desert.

The zoom is great to see things far away, but totally useless for video.

You lose quality very badly.
