Should I refinish the stock and reblue the barrel & magazine assembly or leave as is? Bore is perfect, action crisp, fading case colors, 100% original.

If it were me I'd leave it alone. Refinished rifles are always value diminished in my opinion.

This is just an opinion, but if it were mine , I would leave it as is. It has a lot of character just the way it is.

Sweet rifle! Does it happen to be a 25-20? I love it as is. Refinish on a rifle like this is never a good idea in my mind.

Good choice. The wear on the rifle is consistent with its age. The faded colors are nice but with a newly blued barrel and refinished stock, the faded colors would then look out of place. Keep it as it is.

Very collectable as is based on the photo...Any refinish will destroy its collectability and value...Nice gun.

Thanks fellas! Wish someone had taken a little better care of it, but then I'm sure it was considered an everyday working gun. And it would have cost me a lot more.

I know the decision has already been made, but I agree with leaving it as is 100%. It's just my view but I think guns such as this one have a "history" in their marks, scratches, bluing loss, etc. and, even if the history is unknown, make it more interesting as a shooter/hunter.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Good call on leaving it as is. Every time you look at it you'll wonder what stories it could tell. If it were refinished, you'd think, this gun hasn't done anything!
