fla3006Marlin 93, refinish or not ?
Should I refinish the stock and reblue the barrel & magazine assembly or leave as is? Bore is perfect, action crisp, fading case colors, 100% original.

SnellstromIf it were me I'd leave it alone. Refinished rifles are always value diminished in my opinion.

FirearmdocThis is just an opinion, but if it were mine , I would leave it as is. It has a lot of character just the way it is.

PeglegSweet rifle! Does it happen to be a 25-20? I love it as is. Refinish on a rifle like this is never a good idea in my mind.
The only easy day is yesterday!

fla3006Thanks for your opinions, think I will leave it alone. (30-30)

cal pappasGood choice. The wear on the rifle is consistent with its age. The faded colors are nice but with a newly blued barrel and refinished stock, the faded colors would then look out of place. Keep it as it is.

AtkinsonVery collectable as is based on the photo...Any refinish will destroy its collectability and value...Nice gun.

buckeyeshooterNot to mention value is skyrocketing with the Remlin takeover. leave it alone!

fla3006Thanks fellas! Wish someone had taken a little better care of it, but then I'm sure it was considered an everyday working gun. And it would have cost me a lot more.

GatogordoI know the decision has already been made, but I agree with leaving it as is 100%. It's just my view but I think guns such as this one have a "history" in their marks, scratches, bluing loss, etc. and, even if the history is unknown, make it more interesting as a shooter/hunter.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

lefty315Good call on leaving it as is. Every time you look at it you'll wonder what stories it could tell. If it were refinished, you'd think, this gun hasn't done anything!
