boom stickI am curious to see if the 2.3" version of the 45-70 can get to 2150 with 400 grainers...you see here that @ 43,500 cup he is getting almost 2100 with 430 grainers so 2150 seems obtainable.

meteTyler, IIRC 40,000 psi = 43,500 cup. But if you get a real gun like my 1885 Browning or a Ruger #1 then you can go up to at least 50,000 psi.Thicker cases for this are available somewhere.
I haven't tried those loads since they don't have cape buffalo or elephant here in NY !!

Is no one else concerned about this blatant posting of copyrighted material? We all complain about the slipping quality of the gun magazines, but when they do write a good article, we
steal it from them? It is hard to expect them to get better unless they are paid for better material.
If you want to read the article, buy the magazine!
I sent the forum manager an email about this over a week ago, and have not heard a peep from them.

Absolutely Not! Brian Pierce's article has several errors, the "43,500 CUP" loads being one of the worst. It appears that when comparing his "43,500 CUP" loads with published reloading data that the loads are more likely 40,000 CUP. 40,000 CUP is approximately 42,732 PSI. 40,507 CUP is approximately 43,500 PSI.

The article is not old by publishing standards, it actually is only months old and still available as a back issue. If it were no longer available from any publishing source, then yeah, I'd say it's alright to reproduce it. But it is certainly stealing to reproduce it here.

AmmohouseI have an subscription, that way I can save it. I don't even buy the paper copies anymore. I guess I didn't even think anything about the copyright thing. To be honest, Handloader and RIfle magazine are the few that I actually read anymore.

I did not think the article posted here caused any damage to the magazine.
In fact, it has given them quite a lot of free advertizing, as those reading the article, might consider buying the magazine or subscribing to get more of them.
Some of our own articles, photos and videos are posted on literally hundreds of other websites.
We have to accept this as part of being on the Internet.
We would remove any article, if askeds, by the copywright holders.

OLBIKERI buy a dozen subscritions for hunting shooting and motorcycle magazines for The Local VA.I know that the guys there pass them around.Is that stealing.No,no more than sharing info from a source is here.Now if The Article was being sold for a profit,that would be theft.My 2 cents
