what exactly are loading in there to equal 458Winchester velocities? If I provoke you into thinking then I've done my good deed for the day! Ackley listed velocity like that from the .348/450 using 350 and even 500 grain bullets but the cartridge is more open than the 450 Alaskan meaning it had greater powder capacity. I don't think I would have the cajonnes to try that load from my heavy barreled Alaskan much less an /86 with your 1/2 moon butt. You have got one very beautiful rifle. Exquisite wood. Frank | |||
