Only if you like to walk would I suggest shooting Moose with a lead bullet!

IMO, Moose only die when they decide to, I have seen them shot through the shoulder and keep grazing, even shot one with a 250 gr. Nosler thru the shoulder, he laid down and started grazing..so I shot him again in the neck. They are big and dumb and numb, called Lactic shock I'm told!!

I love the 30-30 but it is what it is, don't try to make it into something it isn't, that's what gave it a bad rap at one time..Get close to moose and elk and shoot them with a factory Corelokt and they don't make many tracks.
