I am a real novice when it comes to lever guns. What are the opinions of those in the know of the 1886/71 rifle by Pedersoli being offered by Cabelas? I have this urge to get a couple lever guns. I bought a Browning 71 and like it a lot so I'm ready for another.

if you buy one at Cabelas, try to make sure it feeds and ejects properly before you pay for it. I bought one there and found that the "lifter" stuck and when it finally popped up, it sent the cartridge flying or turning 180 degrees. It is at a gunsmiths now getting that repaired. Otherwise it shot well as a single shot

My Pederosali 1886/71 in 45-70 purchased from Cabelas is now at the third gunsmith to try and get the action functioning smoothly.. That gun is not an "exact" replica of the 1886
