Two slightly related questions:

1. Has Marlin made the M1894 rifle in .454 Casull, .475 Linebaugh, or .480 Ruger?

2. Winchester's M1892 was offered in .44-40. According to Cartridges of the World, maximum length of this cartridge is 1.92 inches. Puma-Rossi offers a M1892 copy that chambers .454 Casull and .480 Ruger. It is not available from the manufacturer in .475 Linebaugh. The Linebaugh cartridge's maximum length is 1.765 inches.

Is non-availability of Puma-Rossi M1892 in .475 Linebaugh a safety issue, or is it a "who the heck shoots .475 Linebaugh?" issue?

Can you not shoot the 475 in a 480? I could of sworn you could. So just get a 480 Puma! You'll never see a Marlin in 454 as they don't make a '92 action. And a '94 will not handle the pressure of the 454 Casull!

You could with lots of mods turn a 444 Marlin into a .454. There are some timing issues, new lever, barrel, and about $1300.00 to round it off. might as well buy the one from Wild West Guns--it is made of 17-4ph stainless.

Shooting a 475 in a 480 would be like putting a 454 in a 45 colt puma.
