Two slightly related questions: 1. Has Marlin made the M1894 rifle in .454 Casull, .475 Linebaugh, or .480 Ruger? 2. Winchester's M1892 was offered in .44-40. According to Cartridges of the World, maximum length of this cartridge is 1.92 inches. Puma-Rossi offers a M1892 copy that chambers .454 Casull and .480 Ruger. It is not available from the manufacturer in .475 Linebaugh. The Linebaugh cartridge's maximum length is 1.765 inches. Is non-availability of Puma-Rossi M1892 in .475 Linebaugh a safety issue, or is it a "who the heck shoots .475 Linebaugh?" issue? It's so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then don't say it. Sam Levinson

Can you not shoot the 475 in a 480? I could of sworn you could. So just get a 480 Puma! You'll never see a Marlin in 454 as they don't make a '92 action. And a '94 will not handle the pressure of the 454 Casull! One shot One Kill

You could with lots of mods turn a 444 Marlin into a .454. There are some timing issues, new lever, barrel, and about $1300.00 to round it off. might as well buy the one from Wild West Guns--it is made of 17-4ph stainless. Shooting a 475 in a 480 would be like putting a 454 in a 45 colt puma. -------------------- THANOS WAS RIGHT!
