218 Bee,
Well we come into this world naked and bald headed, guess we'll go out the same way!!! Smiler Im regressing back to the lever guns, as I age, the 25-35 Win SRC, 30-30 trapper SRC, mod 92 38-40 rifle, and my Savage 99s..the 250-3000 is my go to deer rifle and Ive purchased a 257 Robts and a 250-3000 bolt gun recently, That's where it all began..AND when I left home to make my way in the world, I had a win. pre 64 mod. 70 in 270 that I shot for some years, then abandoned it for many many years, this week I purchased two .270 rifles, guess Im back shooting deer and elk with the .270, I know it will work because if proved that many moons ago.

Ray, we're plowing a lot of the same ground!

I cut my teeth on lever guns and iron sights, grew out of them and into bigger and bigger stuff...now I'm back to fancying lever guns and iron sights again!

As well, the last bolt gun I bought was...you guessed it...a .250 Savage! And the last lever gun I traded into? A Marlin 336 Cowboy in .30 WCF.

We've both traveled a lot of miles to wind up right where we started, huh? Wink

Mark

.218 Bee. Well Done. Attachments are a good thing, especially when it comes to the right woman and a special gun, or the right fly rod, a purposeful elegant knife, etc. Well Done!

Yes,similarity indeed. Several years ago I bought a set of ivory stocks for a Colt Peacemaker even though I did'nt own one at the time.So the I went looking for the revolver to fit my grips.I found a pair of consect.ser.#'s at an estate sale. i HAD to buy them of course. Then that 1 little grip did not look so good. So I sent the pair to Hartford to have matching ivory grips installed. It was done + in a presentation case now in the safe.Point here I suppose is that I could have saved a lot of money if I had never bought that 1st set of ivory grips.I can't help myself on that issue however as I consider Ivory stocks to be the "Top Shelf" in a quality handgun.

I bought a set of 6mm-284 dies from curiosity, similar story. Before long a heavy-barrel 243 was calling softly from the used rack, and we were off to the races.
