cartridges of the world list one factory load: 200gr at 1190fs is that modern or 1873 ballistics(when fired from a rifle)? i assume they used lead bullets(unjacketed, in lack of a better word) back then? | ||

1873 ballistics. Plain lead bullet. Modern ammo is loaded the same because of old Winchester 1873's and Colt SAA's. There was a high velocity loading for the Win 1892 and other strong guns but it is long gone. Don't remember the ballistics for that-maybe 1500fps? | |||
