Or I should say, found me. A family that has been around forever stopped by. They had a rifle, been passed through the family of non-hunters for years. The gunshop they went to said they were not buying at this time. They asked if I wanted it, before dropping it at the state police. I gave them the little they asked for. Under decades of gummy 3-1 oil and dust, came a 1927 savage 99 takedown in 300 savage. It has a Lyman tang 2 A peep sight ( I think that is what it is). It has a large disk, inside the disk a metal tab that can be switched to three different aperture sizes, or unscrew the disk for a ghost ring. The whole rifle is in used, but not abused shape. I have brass and dies on hand, so I'll see how the old girl shoots!

THE SIGHT IS WORTH ABOUT $150 AND ID BET THE RIFLE IS WORTH $600 In that caliber, In a 250-000 It would fetch at least $1200, all depending on condition, Nice catch for sure. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com
